Donations are used in one of the following ways:

  • Fund financial aid for our students
  • Provide emergency assistance for needy families (food, rent, eviction, medical expenses)
  • Fund new projects which are not covered by fees.

ILIA is a 501c(3) tax exempt non-profit charitable and educational organization. All donations are tax deductible and donors shall receive annual letters of donation.

Current Immediate Needs:

  •  50 yr old sister, head of household of seven, out of work, has been on zakat for at least 6 months, has been coached by ILIA to find a job, inshaa Allah she is starting a cooking/catering service to offer lunch meals to workers in her area who work in service establishments and stores.   • 20 Muslim teens ages 14-21 incarcerated in New Beginnings in Laurel, MD need $35 per student to start an Islamic character building program. Will help them when they come out to the society to be better citizens and address the negative influences they face everyday in their neighborhoods. We look forward to start in Jan inshaa Allah.   • 1 Muslim adult, new in Islam incarcerated in Jessup needs support to pay for books for ILIA’s re-entry leadership program http://www.icanlead.com/ (total amount needed $600, donor can donate $30/mnth, as books will be used over 2 semesters inshaa Allah).   • What: A fund to cover surgical and diagnostic medical expenses required by our non-insured students or their immediate family members.
    Why: There are many segments of the society who are not eligible to receive benefits from local, state or federal healthcare programs. Examples are new green cards holders, teens over 18 or other ages, single parents, and many others.
    What: It does not cover doctor visits or preventive care. Only surgical or urgent medical care at a hospital or diagnostic care at a lab.
