Impact: ILIA Human Rights Class Students Featured in Washington Report
The Sept 25th, 2014 Human Rights I class was featured in the Washington Report on the Middle East. The middle school aged students spent their day learning about justice, right to own property, respect, dignity and fairness. The outdoor class also involved visits to the Amrican Indian Museum and discussions by ILIA’s leadership team members Ayman Nassar and Ibrahim El-Araby. Towards the end of the day the group of students visited the Yemeni Embassy in Washington DC to learn first-hand in an experiential mode about human rights in Yemen. The students ended the day expressing their understanding of the body of knowledge they have learnt during the day through designing poster boards, which they displayed in front of the Embassy of Yemen.
