New Series of Workshops at the Muslim Community Center


Assalamu Alaykum Brothers and Sisters,

The Muslim Community Center Seniors’ Program is pleased to announce the first in a series of educational workshops and lectures in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association and in support of the Seniors’ Program Healthy Aging Initiative. 

The workshops will be offered at MCC,  the first Monday of every month, from 11:00 a.m to 12:00,  
They will start with the basic information on Alzheimer’s and will progress to cover  many  topics to  respond to the interests and concerns of caregivers, service providers, students, as well as the community at large.
The workshop explains basics of Alzheimer’s disease.
Alzheimer’s disease is not a normal part of aging. It is a progressive and fatal brain disease that is the most common form of dementia.
The Basics: Memory Loss, Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease is a workshop,
presented by the Alzheimer’s Association, for anyone who would like to know more
about Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.
The workshop’s information includes:
— Symptoms and effects of Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia
— How Alzheimer’s affects the brain
— Causes and risk factors
— How to find out if it’s Alzheimer’s disease
— The benefits of early detection
— How to address a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease

— Ways the Alzheimer’s Association can help

programming and more.
