This outdoor class touches on the significance of reading. It is designed to instill interest in children and pre-teens in reading and provide hints to the need to read.

The class is designed for children ages 7-11, and offers an interesting mix of activities ranging from a interactive discussion on reading and learning from the Quran; a tour at the Newseum, to outdoor football , frisbee, tug a war, sac race and other activities. Retreat will include visits to the tidal basin area and DC landmarks. Transportation, lunch and snacks included inshaa Allah.

Inshaa Allah Students will learn:

significance of reading
to comprehend facts and situations
to skim read and extract key points from a discussion
to appreciate the connection between reading and writing
portions of a short Muslim authored novel “The Last Touchdown”

Parents drop students at ILIA, Ellicott City or Al-Hiuda School in College Park as follows:

ILIA: 7:00 am

AHS: 8:00 am

Students return at

AHS: 4:30 pm

ILIA: 5:00 pm
