Position Purpose:
Mission Excellence is seeking tutors for students’ grades 8-12 to teach Math. Mission Excellence is not simply another tutoring program; it is a leadership-based program which focuses on the characteristics and learning style of each student.
Mission Excellence conducts two forms of tutoring which are one-on-one and group sessions. The sessions are offered at our training facility in Howard Park, Baltimore.
Role Qualifications:
A college degree or graduate degree, and specializations in certain domains.
Ability to drive or have means for transportation.
Experience working with youth in an academic environment & outside the classroom.
Solid knowledge and practice of leadership styles and traits.
Must be responsible and have a flexible schedule.
Bilingual tutors are desired but not required.
Ability to teach one of the mentioned areas above.
Ability to interact with one of the above mentioned student backgrounds and levels.
Ability to pass an assessment test after the interview process.
Responsibilities:
Teach one Math for students grades 6 through 12. (Angles, two- and three-dimensional shapes and objects, dilations, similarity, transformations & congruence. Percentages, proportional relationships, equations and functions. Exponents and irrational numbers. Solid & coordinate geometry and right triangle trigonometry. One-variable statistics. Linear equations, inequalities and systems. Two-variable statistics. Functions. Exponential functions. Quadratic functions & equations. Families of functions. Linear equations, inequalities and systems. Advanced quadratic functions & equations. Polynomial functions. Radical and rational functions. Exponential and logarithmic functions. Trigonometric functions. Inferences. Systems of equations
